Season 12 Episode 05

Overview:
Quiplash returns as the Jackbox game of the week, as the cast of the show give some classically unsavoury answers to the questions in this week’s game. Xavier once again remotes in and joins TK and Echo in the main studio for another 90-odd minutes of chat, music, and games. This week, TK can’t understand Echo’s tastebuds, Echo gives spoilers to an upcoming TigerTails Gaming video, and Xavier brings a talking point up to round the show off in lieu of Done and Dusted. This could become a regular thing for when the cast don’t have anything to review.

Song 2 – Samantha Fox – Touch Me (I Want Your Body)

It’s the monthly Rocket League tournament this week, to TK is excited for that as he rather enjoys car football. Echo had even dragged his PS4 over (so once again its his footage you get to see). Also TK recants seeing Richard Herring recording his Richard Herring’s Leicester Square Theatre Podcast (RHLSTP) as the show went on tour, where he got to meet Richard and get some autographs – TK then tries out some of the Emergency Questions in Richard’s books, which generates some discussion in the studio.

So having talked himself on to the show, Hedgie joins TK, Echo, and Xavier for the show. This week, the Jackbox game was Guesspionage and Shades provides another Done and Dusted review. Season 12 Episode 01

Overview:
Testing done, it’s time to go live. And this means getting Chinese right at the last moment and be feeding your face through the opening song. Season 12 kicks off properly with microphones sounding a bit more bassy than usual, prompting TigerTails Radio Smooth to be coined. Mostly from TK. Xavier joins in remotely from his studio in far away lands, while Echo and TK fill the camera frame with their noise and faces. Quiplash was the order of the day for the gaming session, with 2 rounds played and much fun was had. All in all, a good start to the season.

Featuring:
TK, Xavier, and Echo.

Songs Played:
Song 1 – Michael Jackson – Xscape
Song 2 – Toto – Africa
Song 3 – Suicide Puppets – Still Bleeding

Season 12 Episode 00

Overview:
The test show to make sure everything works. TK and Echo return, joined by Xavier dialing it in from yonder remote studio again. With a later start time than previous seasons, the cast have much to catch up on. This causes the usual segments to fall by the wayside a little. Nevermind, as all was made up for with the Rocket League trial as the cast battled against the listeners to kick off a tournament that will run all season with 4 out of 6 slots filled. Normal Jackbox games will return next week. Finally we introduce Shades who will be providing some Done and Dusted segments, as he gives us his first review and a taste of things to come.

Featuring:
TK, Xavier, and Echo.

Songs Played:
Song 1 – Jordan Clarke – Freaks
Song 2 – Jake Aldridge – Poison
Song 3 – Mugzy – Understand Me
Song 4 – TigerTailz – Crime Against Rock And Roll

Season 12 Is Almost Here…

Season 12

So, a little later than originally planned, it looks like things are gearing up for Season 12 to begin. Later than planned as the PC that usually broadcast the show was being argumentative and refusing to edit videos properly. That’s now sorted, so expect the rest of the post-gunge interview videos to be released in the next couple of weeks.

There has been a minor move of studio furniture to give a better viewing angle of TK during the show. Not quite as drastic as we’d hoped (we need a bigger studio) but certainly one that’ll work for now. No new equipment was required, but some cables have been replaced as they’d failed during the off-season – and will probably continue to fail during the season.

There will be some new things though, including graphics for the show. This includes a new banner for the YouTube channel, new thumbnails, and even a new title card. These are raring to go. There might be some new jingles too, because why not? Not only that, but there are some explorations into getting some new games to play on the show, not just Jackbox ones. Though Quiplash, Split The Room, Guesspionage, and Trivia Murder Party are certainly going to make a comeback due to their popularity with the cast. Also, there may well be some Done and Dusted reviews from a new regular contributor, but more on that nearer the time.

Finally, there may well be some changes to the show’s length and start time. Originally the show ran for 3 hours every single night of the week. This became 2 hours for Season 3 onwards, and the time has gone from 11pm start time to an 8pm start time. This is because A) we’re getting too old for long shows, and B) work commitments have affected the show timings. It’s looking like the latter reason may be coming into play again, and so at the moment TigerTails Radio Season 12 will start at 8.30pm and run until 10pm. This could change between this post and the start of the season, but for now the run time will be 30 minutes shorter. So we will be losing the Gaming News segment. We can’t promise Xavier won’t sneak something into the regular news though, for those who will miss that segment.

So when will Season 12 be starting? With any luck it’ll be going through the first test shows in early September. Watch this space, or our Twitter feed for further announcements. Until then, keep an eye on the YouTube page for new videos coming soon.

Another Year Young

Well, would you look at that, TigerTails Radio celebrates another year. Albeit during the Off-Season this time. Back on this day in 2004, TK and Hedgie started wibbling into a couple of microphones to a few people on AOL Instant Messenger. How times have changed… In the 15 years the show has been around we’ve gained much better equipment, a stable platform, the ability to play music (legally), and a camera into the studio that’s real time (albeit with about 15 seconds of lag). Gone are the days of a frame every 20 seconds in tiny pictures. The 24kbps mono stream is now 128kbps stereo, coupled with 720p HD visuals. This allows us to play games with you, the audience. Gone are the old instant messengers of the past, and now we have Discord, which allows text chat, but also for Xavier to dial in and for guests to join via voice chat. The vision mixer allows for smooth transitions between the games, music titles, and cameras without that second of silence as the HDMI switch tries to keep up.

So, with 15 years under the belt, what does the future hold? Well, Season 12 is coming. Due to changes to TK and Echo’s work schedules the show might be 90 minutes instead of 2 hours, so there may be a short re-jigging of the format. When the new season starts there will be all the usual social media posts – something that probably won’t be remembered as the season goes on (can’t break with that tradition now, can we?). The normal cast should be back in attendance with Hedgie popping in when he has the time. If you haven’t yet, why not subscribe to the YouTube channel so you can see when we’re due to go live. We pie Echo if we get to 500 subscribers, so if you subscribe we can get to that goal even faster.

Watch this space. TigerTails Radio will be back soon…

Season 11 Episode 52 Podcast/Download

Overview:
The final show of Season 11, and while there are the normal things that go wrong, the show goes rather well. Echo joins TK in the studio, while Xavier dials in from his usual remote location. As this is a bit of a celebration, instead of the usual music, the show’s music is performed “live” by TK and Echo in Rock Band 3 on the PS3. Something not attempted since show 500 using a PS2. Alongside that, we have the usual 2 games of Quiplash, and usual news and fun. All in all, a rather fun show.

Featuring:
TK, Xavier, and Echo.

Songs Played:
Song 1 – Parry Gripp – Space Unicorn
Song 2 – Eurobeat Brony – Discord (The Living Tombstone Mix)
Song 3 – Timeless Miracle – Curse of the Werewolf
Song 4 – Rainbowdragoneyes – Creatures Ov Deception (RB3 Version)
Song 5 – Lemon Demon – The Ultimate Showdown

Backing music by Sanxion7.

Done and Dusted:
There was no Done and Dusted this week.
